Ken Sampson Memorial Fairley Leadership Program Scholarship

Applications for the 2020 Fairley Leadership Program are closed.

Ken Sampson, affectionately known as 'Sambo' was a work colleague and friend of many in the Goulburn Valley.

Sadly, Ken passed away on Thursday 8th October 2009. His passing was both sudden and unexpected.

The Goulburn Broken CMA has been a long-time supporter of the Fairley Program. In 2010 we established the Ken Sampson Fairley Leadership Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship honours Ken Sampson's contributions to Natural Resource Management and community participation and leadership during a career spanning more than 30 years.

The scholarship is available to participants in the Fairley Leadership Program. Applicants will be able to demonstrate passion, initiative and a strong track record in the area of environmental protection.

Sampson Leadership Trust Scholarship

The legacy of Ken Sampson is also available through the broader initiative of the Sampson Leadership Trust.

The annual scholarship provides an opportunity for young adults to get significant financial support to undertake a self-development activity, which also benefits the region. It could entail formal study, or involve a learning and development project like a study tour. Applicants are required to put together a proposal which will then be considered by a selection panel.

Applications and further information is available from the Trust's webpage

Applicants can propose development projects which will benefit both the region and themselves up to a budget of $8000 over a one year period.
