GB CMA Community NRM Annual Snapshot
Welcome to (2023/24) Community Natural Resource Management (NRM) Snapshot compiled by the Goulburn Broken CMA to showcase the effort of the Landcare and community NRM volunteer groups. The G
oulburn Broken catchment has nine active Community NRM networks who employ a Landcare Facilitator through the state government Victorian Landcare Facilitator Program. The information presented is gathered through the Victorian Landcare Grant outputs and the Victorian Landcare Facilitator Program Annual Report.
The Goulburn Broken Catchment community has long been involved in the management of natural resources and their partnership with the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority (GB CMA) is important for delivery of on-ground actions and events within the wider regions.
The Goulburn Broken CMA, through the Regional Landcare Coordinator, provides support to the community NRM staff and their volunteers in the delivery of on-ground works, planning, professional development and communications. This support provides a network to ensure community NRM based programs are coordinated with broader regional and state-wide strategies, while recognising and celebrating the critical contribution of environmental volunteering throughout the community.
There are currently two active Conservation Management Networks (CMN), the Whroo Goldfields CMN and the Broken Boosey CMN. The Broken Boosey CMN is an advocacy group who primarily support the development annual Goulburn Broken catchment calendar. The Whroo Goldfields CMN continues to deliver on-ground works through their voluntary committee.
