Acheron River

The aim of this project is rehabilitate and improve the health of the Acheron River following recent years of fires and floods. Incentive assistance for stream-side fencing, revegetation and off-stream watering is available to landholders with frontage along the Acheron River.

Cabomba - Weed of National Significance

Cabomba (Cabomba caroliniana) is a Weed of National Significance (WONS) and regarded as one of the most invasive aquatic weeds in Australia because of its ability to spread, and it's economic and environmental impact on rivers, reservoirs and water users.

Constraints Management Strategy

As part of the Basin Plan, the Victorian Government contracted the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority to lead regional input (community engagement and technical studies) into the development of the Goulburn River Constraints Management Business Case between May 2015 and February 2016.

Environmental Water

Environmental water is water legally set aside to protect or improve the environmental values of wetlands and streams. Environmental water entitlements are held by the Victorian Environmental Water Holder (VEWH), the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder (CEWH) and the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA).

Macquarie Perch

Work is being undertaken to improve stream health and fish habitat for the nationally endangered Macquarie perch.

River & Wetland Health Implementation Program 2015 - 2016

The Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority has a number of projects aimed at improving the health of our region’s waterways and wetlands.

Strathbogie Streams

The Goulburn Broken CMA is working closely with the community to deliver direct on ground riparian improvement works targeting streams flowing from the Strathbogie Ranges.
