Taking Care of Country

The Taking Care of Country's long-term outcome is improved catchment stewardship by landowners and land managers on private and public land. This is in order to increase native vegetation extent quality and connectivity to ensure improved habitat for wildlife in the Goulburn Broken CMA Upland Slopes Social Ecological Systems.

Project 1: Bogies & Beyond

The project is focused in the Upland Slopes Social Ecological System, which includes areas around Mansfield and Alexandra, Yea and the Strathbogie Ranges.

Project 2: Taking Care of Country

GB CMA will work with Taungurung Land & Waters Council and other land managers to deliver key aspirations and objectives identified by Taungurung Clans for healing Country.

The Goulburn Broken CMA acknowledges and respects First Nations people and the deep connection they have with their land and waters.

We acknowledge the Yorta Yorta and Taungurung people and their ancestors/forbears as Traditional Owners of the land and waters in the Goulburn Broken Catchment (and beyond). We value our ongoing partnerships with Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation and Taungurung Land and Waters Council for the health of Country and its people.

We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge and recognise the primacy of Traditional Owners obligations, rights and responsibilities to use and care for their traditional lands and waters.
