CEO in the running for statewide award

Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority CEO Bill O'Kane has been shortlisted for the Victorian Government Sector Leadership award. 

Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority CEO Bill O'Kane has been shortlisted for the Victorian Government Sector Leadership award. 

Mr O'Kane is among eight finalists in the running for the award including Police Commissioner Christine Nixon.

The award will be judged by Leadership Victoria, an independent not-for-profit organisation. The award recognises outstanding leadership initiatives and aims to foster leadership in the Victorian Government sector.

This year marks the 10th anniversary for the GB CMA which was established in 1997 as the peak natural resource management body in the catchment.

Mr O'Kane said during the past decade the GB CMA has achieved significant growth and success, a reputation for strong strategic direction, quality leadership on all levels and the ability to complete works on the ground. 

The inaugural annual SACS Award for Leadership in Victorian Government Sector will be announced at a lunch on July 26, 2007.

The winner will receive $10,000 to use within the organisation.

  • Debra Cerasa, Director Clinical Services/Chief Nursing & Midwifery Officer, Latrobe Regional Hospital
  • Dr J Patrick Greene, Chief Executive Officer, Museum Victoria
  • Prof. Nick Freezer, Medical Program Director, Southern Health
  • Denise Heinjus, Executive Director Nursing & Midwifery, Southern Health
  • Christine Nixon, Chief Commissioner, Victoria Police
