A recent study into fish populations of the lower Goulburn River has shown a diverse range of native fish exists. Although Murray cod (Maccullochella peelii peelii) are the most abundant large-bodied native species in the lower Goulburn River, few exceed the minimum legal size, now 600mm. http://www.gbcma.vic.gov.au/news_events/goulburn-fish-survey.html
