Land and Water Use Mapping

Land and water use data is regularly collected in the Goulburn Murray Irrigation District as part of the Regional Irrigated Land and Water Use Mapping Program.

This comprehensive land and water use mapping project has been undertaken periodically across the Goulburn Murray Irrigation District (GMID) since 2015-16 to 2021-22 to provide updated information to support decision making in the region. The Land and Water Use Spatial Mapping and Farm Irrigation Survey data has been collated with technical reports and fact sheets providing a snapshot of land and water use in the region, click here.

The GMID Irrigation Land and Water Use Dashboard is a publicly accessible and interactive tool to be able to explore the data further, click here. This will be regularly updated as new data is collected throughout the program.

The Goulburn Broken CMA acknowledges and respects First Nations people and the deep connection they have with their land and waters.

We acknowledge the Yorta Yorta and Taungurung people and their ancestors/forbears as Traditional Owners of the land and waters in the Goulburn Broken Catchment (and beyond). We value our ongoing partnerships with Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation and Taungurung Land and Waters Council for the health of Country and its people.

We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge and recognise the primacy of Traditional Owners obligations, rights and responsibilities to use and care for their traditional lands and waters.
