Residents in Shepparton East and surrounds are encouraged to contact the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority (CMA) with information about the amount of rain that fell on their properties on February 27 and 28.
Goulburn Broken CMA Floodplain Manager Guy Tierney said information from residents would help validate a Shepparton East Overland Flood study that was currently being undertaken with Greater Shepparton City Council.
"While the official Bureau of Meteorology gauge at Shepparton airport south of the city has recorded 57mm, we're hearing that some areas recorded more than 100mm of rain," Mr Tierney said.
"We urge residents to send in pictures, anecdotes, gauge recordings or any other useful information about the amount of rain that fell on their properties to help us validate the findings of our study."
Pictures and information about the location and the amount of rain can be emailed to recpetion@gbcma.vic.gov.au, or phone 5820 1100.
