Native fish in Broken River

The Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority (GB CMA) plans to provide water from Lake Nillahcootie later this week to improve habitat and food sources for native fish, platypus and water bugs in the Broken River.
Water for the environment will be delivered down the Goulburn River in Autumn to promote the growth of native bank vegetation.

The Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority has designated 2025 as the Year of the Tree Hollow for its next community awareness campaign. Each month a species of hollow-dependent local native animal will feature, highlighting the importance of tree hollows to their survival.
