Local farmer appointed to Regional Waterway Management Strategy Community Agency Reference Group

Barwite farmer Jill Breadon has been appointed to the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority's (CMA's) Regional Waterway Management Strategy Community Agency Reference Group.

Barwite farmer Jill Breadon has been appointed to the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority's (CMA's) Regional Waterway Management Strategy Community Agency Reference Group.

The reference group has been established to engage the community in the preparation of the Regional Waterway Management Strategy, which will outline the management direction for rivers and wetlands in the Goulburn Broken Catchment for the next six years.

Goulburn Broken CMA Strategic River Health Manager Wayne Tennant said Ms Breadon was well-known in the Mansfield district for her contribution to Landcare and Waterwatch.

"With their local knowledge and insight, reference group members such as Jill will act as a valuable link between the waterway strategy project team and the community, helping us to identify opportunities to increase community awareness of the strategy and encourage people to have input into its development," Mr Tennant said.

The other Community Agency Reference Group members are:

Bill Wells (Strathbogie);David Dore (Benalla);Greg McKenzie (Kyabram);Jay Whittaker (Bunbartha);Peter Ingham (Murrundindi); Wally Cubbin (Nagambie); and John Avard (Colbinabbin).
