A message from Carl Walters, Goulburn Broken CMA Chief Executive Officer:
The Longwood and Yarroweyah bushfires have devastated the region and my thoughts are with every individual and community impacted.
More than 140,000 hectares of our catchment have been severely affected with areas including Ruffy, Creighton’s Creek and Yarck facing unimaginable losses, including homes and livelihoods.
The Goulburn Broken CMA’s immediate priority is to support emergency response efforts without getting in the way.
We will do this while we plan ahead to restore landscapes, waterways and biodiversity.
We will work with local governments, Landcare networks and partners to coordinate recovery programs and advocate for resources that will make a real difference for the region.
Collectively we can make a difference and support our catchment to recover.
