Hot weather impacts waterways

Monday 3 February, 2025
Prolonged hot, dry weather is impacting flow in many unregulated waterways across the catchment.

The Hollands, King Parrot, Hughes and Seven (pictured) creeks are currently experiencing very low flows and may stop flowing if the hot and dry conditions continue.

While we haven’t seen the flow in waterways as low as this for a few years, it often occurs during the summer and early autumn months.

As these waterways are unregulated, there’s no way to add water to restore the flow and the flow will continue to reduce until it rains.
