September is biodiversity month and is being celebrated in the Goulburn Broken Catchment with lots of community activities. Biodiversity month will be celebrated with a community day in the Broken Boosey State Park near Numurkah in September.

Biodiversity - Working together will be a showcase of community and agency people sharing information on the range of biodiversity projects occurring in the area, such as Bush-stone Curlew projects, Biodiversity Action Planning and community on-ground works.

The event is on September 14 in Gordons Rd, Dramanure behind the old hall and school sites on the Nine Mile Creek. Organisers have chosen a natural bush setting featuring healthy remnant vegetation.

The day will start at 10am with the presentations followed by the launch of the Yarrawonga and Central Creek Landscape Zone Plans and a free lunch. After lunch there will be "walk and talk'' guided tours of the woodland setting to identify native plants and birdlife. Children are welcome and will be entertained with craft activities during the morning session.

The event celebrates the efforts of agencies and communities working together for the benefit of the environment. Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority, Department of Primary Industries, Department of Sustainability and Environment, Parks Victoria, Community interest groups, Trust for Nature, the Goulburn Murray Landcare Network, Local Area Planning groups, Landcare groups, landholders and local government are all being invited to participate.

There will be information displays and giveaways on the day. For more information telephone Rebecca Heard, at DPI Echuca, on 5482 1922 or Kate Brunt, at the GB CMA, on 58 201 100. Bookings are necessary for catering - call Impress Publicity on 58 212 651 or email lisa@impresspublicity.com.au
