The Mid Goulburn Broken Implementation Committee (MGBIC) is seeking nominations from Community Groups for two awards this year.
The Mid Goulburn Broken Landcare Award for Excellence, now in its 6th year, is open for Landcare Groups to nominate a long standing committee person who has shown exceptional commitment to the Group and its ongoing sustainability.
The award consists of a luxury night for two at Sofitel Melbourne including dinner, and a certificate.
A Group Award is also being offered to Landcare Groups who can demonstrate excellence in a major Landcare project. The award will be a fully funded group coach tour to the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne at a time to suit the winning group.
Groups are asked to submit a film/DVD, Powerpoint presentation, or video of their most significant environmental project.
The winning submission will be shown during the Awards dinner at the Benalla Art Gallery on Wednesday September 17th.
MGBIC Chairman David Dore said that the committee urges Landcare and environment group's to take the opportunity to recognise their high achievers.
" There are so many ordinary people doing extraordinary things in the Mid Goulburn Broken community, that we believe their efforts should not be ignored," Mr Dore said.
Nomination and application forms are available electronically and in hard copy from the Goulburn Goulburn Catchment Management Authority office in Yea.
Deadline for all nominations is August 22.
