Broken Boosey and Whroo Goldfields Conservation Management Networks’ launch 2012 Photo Competition
It’s on again, the annual Photo Competition for the Broken Boosey and Whroo Goldfields Conservation Management Network (CMN) 2013 calendar.
Held each year, the photo competition has almost become a local ‘tradition’, and is a fantastic way for local people in the Broken Boosey and Whroo Goldfields Conservation Management Network regions to showcase their photographic skills.
Both CMNs are in Box Ironbark regions, so any photos of plants, animals, birds, insects, waterways or other natural features such as landscape shots or stunning sunsets or sunrises are just the thing needed to feature in the calendar.
“Each year the CMNs produce and distribute 5000 calendars across the regions, and we always receive extremely positive feedback on the quality of the calendar, and the fact it contains pictures taken by local people” says CMN Coordinator Janice Mentiplay-Smith.
“The 2012 calendar featured some wonderful photos of our region, taken by people of all ages; the youngest being a high school student from the Whroo Goldfields CMN. I encourage everyone to grab the camera and get out into the natural environment and see the world through the lens, and share it with us”.
The winning photos are judged by the CMN Implementation Committees, agency staff and local school groups, and prizes are awarded for the winning pictures.
Please email your photos (JPEG image no larger than 5MB and no smaller than 2MB) to the Conservation Management Network Coordinator Janice Mentiplay-Smith at the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority janicem@gbcma.vic.gov.au by the 13th of August 2012.
Alternatively hard copies can be delivered to the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority, 168 Welsford St, Shepparton or the DSE Building, 89 Sydney Road Benalla.
