This field day is being run in conjunction with the Gecko ClaN, Strathbogie Landcare sub-committee and Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority.
When: Friday 2nd November 2018,10:00am till 12:30pm
Where: Carpenters Lane Strathbogie. Follow signs from main Euroa-Strathbogie Road
What: Look at and discuss 9 Acid Tolerant pasture species (replicated 5 times) 16 months after sowing for persistence, vigour and growth in 3 different lime Rates.
Species used are Holdfast, Advance and AT Phalaris. Yarck, Savy
and Vision Cocksfoots. Impact, Matilda, Avalon and Kingsgate Rye grasses. Evaluate the difference between pelletised lime and normal Ag lime broadcast.
A weather station is on site that can measure the ground temperature, soil moisture at varying depths and rainfall that can be monitored from the Gecko CLaN website.
Why: To see what species germinate and persist in highly acidic soils with high Aluminium levels 28% and to investigate different methods of liming.
