Work is under way on a rural flood study for the Broken River floodplain (Lake Nillahcootie to East Goulburn Main Channel); Goulburn River floodplain (Lake Eildon to Toolamba (Bridge/Union Road); and rural areas (excludes Benalla, Seymour, Murchison and Shepparton).
This study will improve our understanding and planning for a 100-year flood. It will also increase our understanding of how the community is affected during a flood (e.g. road closures). We recognise the importance of capturing local community knowledge about previous floods and encourage you to share your experiences of previous major floods (including 2010, 1993, 1975 and 1974).
