Landcare, Landcare Groups and Grants

Landcare is a national community volunteer program aiming to improve land, water and environment.

What is Landcare?

Landcare is a national community volunteer program aiming to improve land, water and environment. Landcare is driven by the community, promoting and delivering environment projects designed to help farmers and land managers. This includes pest plant and animal management on private and public land, soil health and salinity control, revegetation projects to improve land management practices and riparian management. Landcare brings together individuals and communities who are keen to improve their local landscape.

The Victorian Landcare Gateway website provides a forum for local Landcare groups to publish photos, reports and promote upcoming activties. Useful Landcare resources, publications and funding opportunities are also available and regularly updated on the site. The website was established by the DSE State Landcare Coordination team.

Victorian Landcare Grants

The Victorian Landcare Grants (VLG) support Landcare and other community-based natural resource management groups to protect and restore the Victorian landscape. The Victorian Landcare Grants are delivered through the State's 10 Catchment Management Authorities. More information on the Victorian Landcare Program can be found via the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning website and below.
