About The Catchment

Jamieson River

The Jamieson River flows through forested hills for most of its length, with only the lower 16km traversing farmland that is readily accessible. Riparian vegetation is native forest upstream, interspersed with willows and poplars downstream. Access is difficult upstream except for several tracks. This is a typical mountain stream with an average width of 10m, with riffles, runs and pools over a gravel bed[1].
