River news on the web 2005-6-22

Benalla Ensign

A new and innovative website has been launched by the Goulburn Broken Catchment River Authority as part of its `Bringing Back the Broken River' project.

River health expert Wayne Tennant said the website, dedicated to the Broken River, provided a variety of information including history, geography, plants, animals and people, giving the community an opportunity to learn more about the underrated natural resource.

Updated on a regular basis with river news, Mr Tennant said the information would be relevant, interesting and informative, especially on the importance of restoration and protection of waterways.

Seeking community involvement, the authority is calling for stories and/or photos about the river to be submitted for publication on the website.
