Nominations for the Goulburn Broken Landcare Awards, sponsored by the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority (CMA), will close on 14th June.  Landcare groups and Networks throughout the catchment are urged to ensure that their hard working members are nominated for recognition.

Landcare Groups across the entire Goulburn Broken catchment have been invited to nominate their high achievers in four categories.  These include: The Network Award for a network wide project, the Group Award for excellence in managing a local Landcare Project, The Education Award for ongoing engagement within the regional community and The Hubert Miller Perpetual Trophy for excellence in community engagement at a local level.

The Awards consist of a mix of cash prizes, certificates of recognition and an accommodation package in Melbourne; all to be presented during a gala dinner at Raffety's Benalla on 3rd August.  The Awards and dinner will be facilitated by the Upper Goulburn Landcare Network (UGLN).

Network Chairman Terry Hubbard urged Landcare members from across the catchment to nominate in more than one category.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to show Landcarers that they are truly valued members of our community, and recognise them for their ongoing hard work in environmental projects," Mr Hubbard said.

The Goulburn Broken CMA acknowledges and respects First Nations people and the deep connection they have with their land and waters.

We acknowledge the Yorta Yorta and Taungurung people and their ancestors/forbears as Traditional Owners of the land and waters in the Goulburn Broken Catchment (and beyond). We value our ongoing partnerships with Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation and Taungurung Land and Waters Council for the health of Country and its people.

We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge and recognise the primacy of Traditional Owners obligations, rights and responsibilities to use and care for their traditional lands and waters.
