Invergordon & District Local Area Plan
Vision: “A cooperative vibrant community utilising land and water resources by using responsible farming practices with respect for the environment”
Mission: “Invergordon- working together for our future”
Area: 14,387 Hectares, 230 households
Industries: Dairy, Horticulture and mixed irrigated & dryland farming.
Launched: Sunday 11th November 2001

Achievements:
- The Invergordon and District Environment and Landcare group newsletter is released bi-monthly and is delivered free of charge to over 250 local residents.
- Waterway protection works along the Nine-Mile Creek, so far 7.15km of stream length has been permanently protected with fencing, with a further 15km of fencing planned, to control stock access to the watercourse. Also 14 stock watering points have been installed as an alternative water source for stock in paddocks with direct access to the creek. The Nine-Mile Creek is now part of the Broken-Boosey State Park.
- The community has developed the Invergordon Community Plan through the Moira Shire Council.
- Restoration works to the recreation reserve and resurfacing of the Netball and Tennis courts.
- Improved recycling service to the district and this is an ongoing concern.
Priorities for the future:
- Fencing off the raw water dam situated in the township of Invergordon.
- Improving mobile phone coverage in the area, complaints can be made by phoning 12 5111.
- Improving the safety at the Katamatite/ Shepparton Roadand Centre Road Intersection.
