Types of Funding Available
There are a number of different funding sources and processes that the Goulburn Broken CMA uses to fund high priority natural resource management activities for community groups and regional organisations in the catchment through the EOI process and other separate calls each year.
These are summarised below.
1. Caring For our Country (CFOC)
Source: Commonwealth government
Funds: In 2011/12 the type of projects funded were:
- Threatened Species Plan implementation
- Environmental Management Incentives
- Increasing and managing native vegetation (includes fencing, revegetation, rabbit control)
- Controlling Weeds Of National Significance (WONS)
- On-ground farm improvement incentives
Targets: Regional organisations and community groups
Application: Through Goulburn Broken EOI Process, or separate application completed by the group submitted directly to the Commonwealth. See the 2010-11 Business Plan released on www.nrm.gov.au for priority areas and actions (expected late November with applications due around April).
More Info: http://www.nrm.gov.au/
Note: This funding stream replaces NHT, NLP and NAP funding. The introduction of this new program has also removed Envirofund and Community Water Grants. A new small grants program, CFOC Community Action Grants will now be run in their place. The first round closed 22 October 2009. See below.
2. CFOC - COMMUNITY ACTION GRANTS
Source: Commonwealth government

- Groups of farmers or land managers working on sustainable farming or improving natural resource management
- Indigenous partnerships involved in protecting or improving the environment
- Community groups involved in biodiversity conservation, environmental protection or managing natural resources
Targets: Community groups (not individuals)
Application: Separate application
More Info: http://www.nrm.gov.au/

5. Landcare Community Grants Guide
The Landcare Community Grants Guide is a guide produced by the Victorian Landcare state team to help individual and community groups access funding resources. The guide provides a broader range of grants available. The guide is broken down into sections to advise of tips on applying for grants, outlines incentives available, provides information about volunteer recruitment and links to other useful websites.
